Its such a cliche: Follow your heart...But the brain always seems to have a different idea...It probably acts like a reality check, a kind of a devils advocate...It always seems to portray the hearts fluttering as mere stupidity devoid of any sence, logic and destined to nothing but failure and doom. Yet, the reality is that even though we may follow the brain's black and white decisions majority of times, we never get true peace until somehow the heart reconciles to it. The heart is a stubborn organ. Rarely does it ever reconcile to the mind. Infact it seems to have a mind of its own. From my discussions with other people and also from my personal experiences, I've learned that although we follow what our brains tells us for the majority of times, yet whenever we make a decision following our hearts, it always always leads to a greater sence of peace and satisfaction. Perhaps, the emotions originating from the heart are so overpowering that they infuse their positivity into our very bloodstream and it simply numbs the brain. However, despite that people curse the heart as stupid, pagal, deewana. The heart always knows what it wants, in no uncertain terms and thats perhaps the reason why its emotions are always stronger, more resilient and stand the test of times. Should we then just ridicule the poor heart as a loony, stupid organ or should we celebrate its hunches and fluttering, knowing that "the heart has a reason that reason does not know"?
P.S: This post was written in the dying moments before the iftaar. These are the ramblings of an empty stomach. Hence the sensible nonsense.
