I read on a friend's blog about people having different "concepts of God" and I had to disagree...The greatest reality that exists within every human being is THE concept of God, of a deity, of a Supreme being...That concept is one and the same and that is the ultimate reality...So there aren't any two ways to the concept of God...All of us come from that God and all of us will in the end return to that God...In the words of Karen Armstrong:
"God was not the exclusive property of one tradition , but was the source of all human knowledge: God is the light of the heavens and the Earth. Allah explained this in one of the mystical verses in the Quran. The divine light could not be confined to any individual lamp, but was common to them all, enshrined in every one of them:
"The parable (ayah) of the light is, as it were, that of a niche containing a lamp; the lamp is [enclosed in glass], the glass [shining] like a radiant star: [a lamp] is lit from a blessed tree---an olive tree that is neither of the east not the west---the oil whereof [is so bright that it] would well-nigh give light [of itself], even though fire had not touched it---light upon light [Surah Nur]
So, all religions in whatever way or means just lead to the same Truth, the same Reality, and the same one Being...No, the concept of God can never be different...The road leading up to Him can be, but its fine as long as it leads to Him
