10 minutes of peace and Zen quotes :D

This was an amazing video...Its basically a collection of amazing scenery from Japan (I think) and its filled with Zen quotes...For those of you who don't know Zen is a form/offshoot of Buddhism and basically Zen masters like Confucius have wonderful quotes filled with wisdom and insight...My orthodox Muslim brothers might argue that why should one seek wisdom from a "non-Islamic" source when all the wisdom is already there in our Holy Book and traditions...Its just that I believe wisdom or knowledge cannot be confined to one school of thought...Afterall God sent 124,000 prophets/messengers to this world of which only a handful (24 or 26, have to recheck) are mentioned in the Holy Quran...So, its quite possible that the wisdom they bestowed might have filtered through these quotes, scriptures etc...My point being, all these streams of knowledge might originate from different sources but in the end they meander and flow through to the main sea of knowledge and that is the infinite wisdom and knowledge of God...Watch the above video after a long stressful day of work or studies/exams and I am quite confident the sights (garden) and sounds (Yanni's song of an angel) will soothe you and take all your stress away...In line with todays' new found knowledge, I'm sharing some well known Zen-master quotes that I googled for this post...Enjoy...May the force be with you (:

QUOTES

If you want to be free,
Get to know your real self.
It has no form, no appearance,
No root, no basis, no abode,
But is lively and buoyant.
It responds with versatile facility,
But its function cannot be located.
Therefore when you look for it,
You become further from it;
When you seek it
You turn away from it all the more.
- Linji (d. 867)
