People, the only way to diminish the doom and gloom in your life is by turning the environment around you into something worth living...So today, I went to TK Max and did an impulse buy...I bought a magnetic dart board...Its the first step into turning my place into a bachelor pad... The term ‘Bachelor Pad’ is commonly used in our society, usually when a guy gets a place of his own. It’s a big step for men across the board because you’re either leaving the nest, skipping away from the unsuccessful relationship, or deciding it’s time to adopt a new lifestyle. Whichever your reason is, it’s pretty damn cool...So in my head the concept of a bachelor pad should have the following things:
1) Absolutely comfy reclining leather seats, the kinds they show in Friends in Joey and Chandalers' flat...Ideally it should also have massaging properties which can be powered and directed as per your desires.
2) A nice wall hung plasma screen 42 HD TV which is also connected to your laptop which has a built-in Blu-ray player.
3) A gaming console like Playstation3, X-box and Nintendo Wii.
4) A home theater system which has Bose (TM) 7x satellite speakers which are strategically fixed in different locations of the room to give an amazing dolby digital surround sound experience.
5)A projector is absolutely necessary which can be connected to the laptops/gaming consoles and the surround sound system for playing games with friends or for watching movies with the proper cinema experience.
6) A magnetic dart board :D
7) Plasma Ball
8) 2-3 lava lamps
9) Newtonian cradle
10) Board games like cards, scrabble, backgammon, carom board, ludo, monopoly etc.
11)Ipod with ready made playlists suitable for multiple occasions/moods, connected to an ipod dock system which is further amplified by the Bose in-house surround sytem.
12) A large soft and comfortable leather couch or probably a sofa-cum-bed which is also strategically placed to enjoy the above mentioned entertainment system.
13) A nice coffee table to showcase the latest magazines like People, Newsweek, Times, FT, Businessweek, Vogue, Cosmopolitan etc.
14) A bookcase which has all your favourite books lined up neatly.
15) Food must be at hand easily. This includes peanut butter and jam, bread, cheese spreads, cold pizza, pringles, microwaveable popcorns, ready made microwaveable pot-noodles, chocolate fudge cake, haggendaaz ice cream etc..I might have missed quite a few but remember this is the bachelor pad of a couch potato :p
16) The room should have atmosphere lighting which can be dimmed and adjusted according to your mood ;)
17) A nice ornamental sheesha with double apple, mint, strawberry flavours.
18)Central air conditining (need I mention).
19)Live plants like rubber plant, money plant and bamboo shoots :)
20) A nice bed...water bed..Yes, no or maybe...?!?!?!?
